Refugee Hope Partners

The world is at our doorstep.

How will we respond?

Serving the Cedar Point Community since 2007.

Right in the middle of North Raleigh, there is a growing community at Cedar Point Apartments, a door to the nations of the world. Families have come from all over to reside in this place. We count it a privilege to serve this community with the love of Christ. Our programs are open to all residents of the Cedar Point community.

Areas of Service

HOMEWORK HELP & TUTORING

Homework Help is offered through the school year to elementary, middle, high school and college students. Students are paired with tutors to complete homework or work on remedial skills.  An incentive reading program keeps students moving forward in their education goals.  Learn More Here.

ESL

Refugee Hope Partners is now offering ESL in the community two nights/week.  Each student is evaluated and placed in a leveled group with a lead instructor.  Students grow in English proficiency as well as cultural knowledge.  Sweet friendships are also formed as we meet together to work toward a common goal.  Contact Marian Wilkinson if you would like more information about this program - pmwilk@yahoo.com

REad & Swim

A seven-week program aimed at helping students maintain or improve English reading proficiency over the summer.  Students are given an opportunity to read three days a week with a tutor. Students who read all three times in a week "earn" a swim time at New Life Camp or on-site party. Learn More Here.

Early Learning Club

We provide two early learning club experiences for 3-4 year olds living at Cedar Point.  Each club meets two days/week.  Students are exposed to language, literacy, math, and general classroom procedures that better prepare them to enter kindergarten.  Each group also enjoys two field trips per year.  Many of our ELC graduates have finished kindergarten on grade level.

BIBLE STUDY

Six on-site Bible Studies occur weekly at Cedar Point.  Each group studies books of the Bible with a focus on sharing the gospel and discipling believers.

school support

We work with area schools to support Cedar Point families with the educational process.  This includes assisting families with the enrollment process for new kindergartners, facilitating parent/teacher conferences, assisting with paperwork, communicating student needs with the schools and being involved in extracurricular activies.  We also assist students graduating from high school with the application process to college.

And he made from one man every nation of mankind to live on all the face of the earth, having determined allotted periods and the boundaries of their dwelling place, that they should seek God, and perhaps feel their way toward him and find him. Yet he is actually not far from each one of us.
— Acts 17:26-27
